6" Close Clearance adapter

6 inch Dura Vent brand Close clearance adapter for DVL-Close Clearance interior double wall stove pipe

This part makes the connection from double-wall DVL and single-wall DuraBlack, to DuraTech, DuraPlus, and DuraPlus HTC, for a through-the-wall or ceiling support installation. Required for proper installation. It is made of stainless steel.

When this connector is attached to the support box in the ceiling the larger side of it is upward and pushes up until it snap locks into the support box and the inner wall of the chimney pipe drops inside of it from above and it goes into the female side of the double wall stovepipe below for a secure connection. When installing this connector into some other brands of chimney pipe support boxes their hole is often slightly too small for this connector to lock into place. In this case widening the opening slightly with a ball peen hammer, pliers or other hard object by tapping around the inside lip will make it large enough to push until it snaps in place.

WARNING - IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THIS ADAPTOR IS SECURELY CONNECTED BEFORE INSTALLING THE CEILING SUPPORT BOX OR IT BECOMES VERY DIFFICULT TO DO WHEN THE SUPPORT BOX IS IN THE CEILING!

This double wall stovepipe may be installed as close as 6 inch to a wall instead of the 18 inch required for most standard single wall stovepipe. This Close Clearance double wall pipe is stainless steel on the inside so that it has a 25 year warrantee and will never corrode like standard carbon steel stove pipe.
