The SootSweeper II can exchange all the air in a room in less than two minutes. When you turn on the SootSweeper II and put its 4" diameter hose into the fireplace opening, dirty air is drawn into its charged filter at a whopping 350 cubic feet per minute. The filter (included) has a total surface area of 212 sq. ft. — that's about 14 times what you'll find in most shop vacs. The SootSweeper II will capture even the smallest dust particles (.5 microns) and return clean, filtered air into the room.
The SootSweeper II is not designed for vacuuming up debris or ash. Use the August West TurboSweeper for this purpose.
Replacement filters are available. In addition to the replacement filters we offer a SootSweeper II replacement motor brush kit and a replacement 4" X 10" hose.
The Sentinel Filter clamps to the air exhaust to provide extra protection against leaks in your primary filter. If it starts to turn gray, you may have a leak.
