These super sized 72" X 36" half round hearth rugs are made of synthetic fibers which perform similar to nylon but have slightly lower melt temperatures.

These attractive hearth rugs meet the CPSC standard FF 1-70 for flammability of carpets. This test is often called the "pill test" and certifies that the carpet will not continue to support combustion once the ignition source has cooled or been removed. The ember that pops out may char a spot on the hearth rug but the rug will not burn. It will protect the underlying surface.
