This is the first Earth Stove 101 or 1000 series produced before the 1990 EPA clean burning standard was established. A similar model is labeled ICBO 3340 and 1000 series as you see below. Notes from parts list - 101 / 105 701 / 705 (Mobile Home Version) Wood, Freestanding w/ Legs, 8" Drawing from one manual cover. Here is the C201 / C202 / C202B / C205 (Colony Hearth) Wood, Large Insert, Non-EPA MODEL YEARS: 1980 - 1984 have scalloped edges cut in the ash lip and overhang of the top of the stove, and a ceramic ornament on the solid door that swings down, exactly like the 101 series.
This appears to be the Catalytic 1002C or 1003C wood burning stove, which is identified by the handle on the flue collar for bypassing the catalytic converter during fuel loading. These models also came in a model with LEGS called the 1002CL and 1003CL. It was famous for the very deep firebox that could hold lots of coals and ashes for really long burn times.
